Junior High School
In Junior High School, students are exposed to advanced academic subjects while they hone their self-concept, personal expectations, and intrinsic motivation. Students learn about their strengths and are encouraged to focus on those while recognizing areas that need to be constantly supported.
Our curriculum
The Junior High School program at Saint Joseph School (Naga City), Inc. provides students with a well-rounded and academically challenging curriculum, fostering intellectual growth, character development, and practical life skills.
Students engage in advanced subjects, including Mathematics, Science, Languages, Chinese, and Practical Arts. Homeroom modules, facilitated by class advisers, serve as primers to help students navigate the changes they experience during puberty. To accommodate the needs of new or foreign students, special classes in English, Filipino, Araling Panlipunan (Social Studies), and Chinese may also be offered.
Language classes focus on various literary genres, such as poetry, short stories, novels, and essays, while further enhancing students’ speaking, listening, reading, writing, viewing, and representing skills. Meanwhile, Mathematics, Science, and Araling Panlipunan develop analytical, experimental, and critical thinking skills, as well as a deeper understanding of social structures.
Technology and laboratory equipment are integrated into learning to enhance students’ practical and manual skills. Music, Arts, Physical Education, and Health subjects support their physical, mental, and creative development. Christian Living Education, rooted in Gospel values, strengthens their commitment to faith and discipleship.
Throughout their Junior High School journey, students are encouraged to recognize their strengths while continuously working on areas that need improvement. They are provided with diverse opportunities to develop interpersonal relationships, leadership skills, and social responsibility. Through active participation in academic, sports, and cultural clubs, Josephians learn the importance of accountability and the interconnectedness of their actions and decisions.
